Should we stay home on Sabbath or go to a meeting?
What we miss and His Gentle Hand of correction
There are many times that as we read the bible we simply miss things that are plainly written. Reading them and having your brain look for as much as possible to glean from them. Often we miss things because we simply haven’t posed the Question and our brains simply disregard what we just read as “not relative to the topic” or that our mind wanders off in the story while you read and your mind preoccupied with daydreaming about the story simply doesn’t pick up on “Little Clues”. It was my custom to go to a sabbath meeting on Sabbaths, Before I left Minnesota I only had about 8 city blocks to travel to reach a home where the local fellowship was assembling. They were great times and I miss them. Having moved to a new state and not knowing of an assembly to go to for Sabbath meetings we searched out for a suitable Congregation. Well to cut a long story short, this didn’t work out to well for us as we had to drive a considerable distance. So we started having an at home Sabbath instead of going somewhere. Now I have read the book of Exodus many times and In all those times I have failed to see an important instruction regarding the Sabbath. It was right there on the page, plain as daylight to see. Yet over the years having read this many times as I read each chapter It suddenly stood out and I realised why we were staying home on Sabbath. Our Heavenly Father who we trust in, does indeed direct our paths and how we should walk, if we simply in child like faith trust him to lead us. Doing the best we can as we know how to. Today I read and saw for the first time why we were staying home on Sabbath, we thought one thing, we failed to find a suitable Fellowship to attend on Sabbaths and then the big discovery as to why all this was happening without us even knowing why things were going like they were. Please let me share this with you that you also maybe blessed in Guarding and doing His Commandments.
Exd 16:28 And YHWH said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
Exd 16:29 See, for that YHWH hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Exd 16:30 So the people rested on the Seventh Day.
YAH wants us to remain in our own tents on Sabbath; yes, to stay home and rest. So now I don’t feel so bad as to not having successfully found an Assembly to go to on Sabbath. In fact I believe that YAH brought this about and guided our feet so that we were resting as He wants us to. He helped us in something that I had fallen miserably short on by not paying attention to every word. Ye, it is important to pay attention to every word and this section of Scripture about staying having an at home Sabbath I had completely missed. So YAH helped us by not letting us find an Assembly to visit on Sabbath. Now I feel a WHOLE lot better for staying home on Sabbaths and resting. Before I thought we were under some obligation to go out and find a group to fellowship with on Sabbath. Now I realize there is no such obligation and He caused His paths to be in my life without me even being aware of the “little details” I had so brushed over and failed to have them sink in.
YAH bless everyone! Shabbat shalom! Abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the Seventh Day.
